"Dr. Peter Chen has been my eye doctor for over 25 years. He is patient, kind and caring. I never feel rushed.
Now he has the perfect partner in Dr. Philip Ngai - a Glaucoma and Cataract Specialist. Dr. Ngai is thorough and patient.... just like Dr. Chen. Dr. Ngai just did my cataract surgery. I am amazed that my vision went from seeing like I had a smear of vaseline rubbed on my eye to being able to read without glasses the next day!! No pain, no discomfort of any kind.

I cannot thank Dr. Ngai and his staff enough for their service. They are amazing.
My 3 yr old son had a piece of something stuck in his eye and it was causing him pain and swelling. I desperately started searching for anyway to avoid taking him to Kaiser hospital with the Covid virus going on and I was lucky enough to stumble on Dr. Ngai's information after calling/search around.
Erick was so friendly and welcoming and scheduled us right away, answered all my questions and was very comforting from the beginning. The office was very clean and inviting. Erick was very patient with my son and that was so helpful with everything going on.
Most importantly, Dr. Ngai was awesome. He explained his findings and the possible solutions, he was very kind and friendly to my son the entire time. I know many providers who wouldn't deal with a screaming, crying and stubborn 3 year old in pain but Dr. Ngai took on the challenge and though it wasn't easy, Dr. Ngai saved the day! We really can't thank him enough.

Dr. Ngai is nothing short of a miracle worker. He is extremely professional, friendly, and punctual.
We brought in my grandmother who is considered "legally blind" to his office on the chance he could work on her cataracts. My mom was having pain on her right eye which was caused by her glaucoma. I took her for a regular check up, but Dr. Ngai decided to have her emergency laser procedure on the same day due to my mom’s extremely high eye pressure. My mom was so nervous but Dr. Ngai thoroughly explained to us the importance of getting the laser procedure as soon as possible. He also told us what to expect base on worst case scenarios. Overall, it was a quick and successful laser procedure.
My mom cried with tears of joy, Dr. Ngai did a follow up appointment with my mom in person the next day on his day off. Dr. Ngai went above and beyond our expectations.

"Dr. Ngai really cares about his patients"
Dr. Philip Ngai is passionate about what he does and always has the best interest of his patients in mind. During my consultation appointment, he clearly and patiently explained the options I had for lenses for cataract surgery. After answering my many questions, we decided that the Vivity lens would be the best option for me.
After surgery, I was amazed that I didn't feel any pain at all. I had surgery in the morning and by the evening I could see that things were clearer and colors were brighter. I went for my 3 months followup appointment yesterday and my vision is 20/20.
Thanks to Dr. Ngai, having the cataract surgery has opened up a new world for me. I don't need glasses to drive, watch movies or TV and most of all, I can drive at night without the glare caused by my cataracts and never have to squint anymore.
Dr. Ngai really cares about his patients and is a excellent doctor. I have referred all my family and friends to him who need cataract surgery or eye care because I know they will be happy with him.

Dr. Philip Ngai is one of the best doctors ever. He took care of my mom's cataracts and did laser on her eyes. He is such a good Dr. that he even follows up to make sure you are ok. My mom's surgery went well and he is still monitoring her eyes to make sure she is doing fine. The nurses in the office are also very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend you to see this Dr. if you are having problems with your eyes. You will not be disappointed I guarantee it.

"I'm a nurse and was referred by one of my physicians because I had an eye infection. I called and texted their office after hours and Dr. Ngai responded in a few minutes. I was scheduled for an appointment the very next morning. Dr. Ngai and his staff took a complete medical history and Dr. Ngai did a very thorough eye exam. "Ever since my Lasik surgery a few years ago, I've had a few eye floaters that I hardly noticed over time. They seemed to progress recently, and I started looking for an Ophthalmologist right away. I found this business on Yelp and thought I'd give it a shot since it was close by. I'm SO HAPPY I did. The receptionist, Erick, was helpful from the very start. He fit me in the day after my phone call and even worked with me on my appt time. He was very friendly and informative, as was Dr. Ngai.

Dr. Ngai literally saved my vision! I noticed a sudden influx of floaters during the day and he told me to come in right away. He was very thorough during the exam and was able to diagnose my condition. He explained exactly what was happening and always made sure I was comfortable. This man truly cares for his patients and I am more than grateful that he was able to see me that day.

"We truly recommend Dr. NGAI."
My mom has weak corneas in addition to her cataract condition. This increased the risk of her corneas possibly being damaged if we delayed cataract surgery.
Dr Philip Ngai was very patient in answering all of our questions even though it was already lunch break (our appointment was at 11am so we had to wait for her eyes to be dilated in between before we could be seen). He didn’t hurry us nor appeared rushed during the entire visit. He explained all of the possible complications as well as the differences in the lenses (mono-focal vs multi-focal).
Espie made special accommodations so we could be scheduled for surgery one week after each other. She even found a time that was convenient for us (since I had to bring my kids to school first). On the next day follow up check-up (after the surgery), Eric gave us a piece of paper that had the eye drops listed as well as a visual guide for us to mark how many drops of which medicine (my Mom needed 2) will be needed for each day. That was really cool and helpful especially for senior patients who might need to keep track of whether they already had their eye drops or not. Each time the eye drop was applied, you have to color in the circle dots to show completion. One eye drop needed to be applied 3 times a day while the other had to be applied for 4 times a day so this color coded visual guide was really helpful to avoid any confusion!
It was a pleasant experience overall and I think for my Mom, Dr Philip Ngai did the lowest possible pressure to lift out her cataracts. I told him he probably just beat the “World’s Guinness Book of Records!” There were no complications and now my Mom can see everything clearly!
We truly recommend him and applaud his wonderful office staff (Espie and Eric)! You won’t regret coming to this office! They are the best!!!

"DR. PETER T CHEN is the man! That old DR. knows his profession to its best. He saved me a trip to Beverly Hills to go see another Dr. they took me in the same day and had me in his office for like 10 minutes. He Immediately identify what was wrong with My left eye and gave me some stronger eye drops. I was so impressed of how he figured out my vision right away with in two minutes. He is the man to go to. “This is my first time visit with Dr. Chen, he is a very professional doctor, I have a pimple in my eyelid for more than one month and he said no need to do any surgery neither need eye drops and tell me to put hot towel on my eye in the morning and night. Then the pimple will be gone naturally. He is really good doctor that he only charge me 40usd for the checking. Thanks Dr Chen. I would prefer to choose him if I had any eye problem. And the fee for appointment only 50usd, which is cheaper and reasonable than most of others."

“I was able to get same day appointment due to extreme pain in one eye. Couldn’t even open it. Dr. Ngai prescribed me two meds that really help eased the pain. I was able to use both eyes to see after only two doses.
Dr. Ngai is very patient and likes sharing eye care knowledge. When we are already too worried about the virus outbreak at this moment I find his practice very assuring.

"I'm very pleased with my experience at Dr. Ngai's office"
My nightmare started a month ago, my vision suddenly went down with a severe headache. I went to Urgent care for seeking help first, but nothing they could do. The next day I visited with Dr. Liu who did my eye lasik surgery back in March, she highly recommended me to visit eye specialist, Dr. Ngai, due to unnormal symptoms I had.
To be honest, I was very hesitant, because I was not sure if Dr. Ngai could solve my problem. I missed the first time appointment (because I'm not confident about Dr. Ngai at that time), but I'm glad I finally made my appointment again with Dr. Ngai's office.
His whole team is very professional and made me feel that I was in safe hands. I was amazed by how professional Dr. Ngai is. I swear he is the only one who found what's the cause for my vison went down and my eye is totally recovered the next day. How amazing it is!
After Dr. Ngai knowing about I just quit my job and I had to pay everything out of my pocket that moment, he directly called Pharmacy and used his coupon to help me save lots of money on the medication. I can tell he does care about his patients.

"I am very particular with my health esp. with my eyes. The office of Dr. Ngai is so family oriented, that you always feel a VIP accommodation. They will call you to remind you of your appointed time. The office is immaculate, well organized and equipment is all, I would say, top of the line. Where to start, I had an accident and I poked my eye in the backyard, I needed a doctor who opens early and can take me on such a short notice, I googled and found Dr. Philip, I called and they immediately gave me a spot to come and see me on such short notice.

"My daughter searched for an excellent Eye Clinic with reviews that are exceptional and she recommended SGVEYEGROUP for my wife. So, we came for our appointment. And they were EXCEPTIONAL! They have joy. And love what they do. We had some kinks with medicare but they took initiative and called them more than once to make it sure that my wife's surgeries was covered.
